Product Overview
5005 aluminum alloy is a medium-magnesium content (0.5-1.1%) non-heat-treatable 5xxx series alloy, offering excellent corrosion resistance, good formability, and weldability. Its low-copper composition makes it particularly suitable for humid or chemical environments, while maintaining superior surface treatment capabilities including anodizing.

Chemical Composition
Primary alloying element: Magnesium (Mg, 0.5-1.1%), with trace manganese (Mn ≤0.2%). Low copper (Cu ≤0.2%) and iron (Fe ≤0.7%), ensuring excellent corrosion resistance.
Mechanical Properties (H32 Temper Example)
- Tensile strength: 145-185 MPa
- Yield strength: ≥115 MPa
- Elongation: ≥5%
Physical Characteristics
- Density: 2.7 g/cm³ (similar to pure aluminum)
- Conductivity: ~50% of pure aluminum (good for electrical/thermal applications)
